Blockchain Intelligence Firm TRM Labs Hits $2 Billion Valuation Following Series C Funding Expansion

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs has officially doubled its valuation to $2 billion following a strategic expansion of its Series C funding round, which was led by venture capital firm Blockchain Capital.

While the company chose not to publicly disclose the exact financial size of this latest investment tranche, it highlighted significant operational momentum in an official announcement released on Wednesday. According to TRM Labs, its annual recurring revenue has experienced explosive growth, quadrupling over the past three years as global demand for advanced digital asset compliance, risk management, and financial crime investigation tools continues to surge.

This latest capital injection and valuation milestone closely follow an earlier $70 million Series C funding round finalized in February, which was also spearheaded by Blockchain Capital. TRM Labs develops sophisticated blockchain intelligence and forensic investigation software that is currently utilized by more than 600 government agencies, regulatory bodies, and private-sector financial institutions spread across 75 countries worldwide, the company noted in its announcement.

Prior to the crucial February funding round, market intelligence data compiled by Traxcn pegged the company’s valuation at approximately $930 million. TRM Labs successfully breached the coveted $1 billion valuation mark during a previous milestone funding round that boasted participation from prominent heavyweights in the financial technology and crypto sectors, including Citi Ventures and Galaxy.

The company’s rapid ascent comes as financial institutions and law enforcement agencies grapple with an increasingly complex and sophisticated landscape of digital asset crime. TRM Labs emphasizes that its proprietary, artificial intelligence-powered tools are routinely deployed to investigate, track, and mitigate a wide array of illicit activities, including complex financial fraud, international money laundering, sanctions evasion schemes, and other sophisticated forms of cyber-enabled financial crime.

The urgency surrounding these digital defense capabilities is underscored by escalating financial losses across the global digital economy. Data compiled from official law enforcement tracking shows that digital crime losses reported directly to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crime Complaint Center climbed dramatically, rising to $21 billion in 2025 compared to $16 billion in the previous year. Furthermore, data from TRM Labs’ own AI-in-Crime Adoption Index reveals that the criminal adoption of artificial intelligence tools has accelerated rapidly, increasing by 40% year-over-year in 2026 as malicious actors increasingly leverage advanced technology to perpetrate financial fraud and evade detection.

The announcement of the $2 billion valuation arrives roughly two months after a major public sector win for the blockchain intelligence firm. In recent months, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) awarded TRM Labs a lucrative, one-year contract valued at approximately $95 million. The substantial contract tasks the company with providing advanced forensic software licenses and critical support services designed to empower Homeland Security Task Force investigations targeting illicit financial flows and cross-border digital crime networks.

However, the high-stakes government contract has not gone uncontested within the competitive blockchain analytics sector. Rival blockchain intelligence firm Chainalysis formally challenged the sole-source nature of the federal award in federal court later that same month. In its legal filing, Chainalysis alleged that ICE’s decision-making process surrounding the contract award was arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable, setting off a high-profile legal dispute over government procurement practices in the rapidly growing blockchain surveillance and security market.
