Pcaversaccio Joins the Ethereum Foundation Board to Help Steward Ecosystem’s Core Values

The Ethereum Foundation has officially announced a notable addition to its leadership team, confirming that longtime ecosystem contributor pcaversaccio—widely known within the community simply as "pc"—has joined the Ethereum Foundation Board. The appointment marks an important step for the organization as it continues to navigate its strategic direction while remaining firmly anchored in its foundational principles.

As a prominent figure in the decentralized technology space, pcaversaccio brings a deep-rooted commitment to the core tenets of the Ethereum network, including open-source development, robust security practices, privacy, and censorship resistance. Over the years, pc has built a reputation not only as a dedicated technical contributor but also as a passionate advocate for the ideological underpinnings that first inspired the creation of public blockchain infrastructure.

Within the broader Ethereum ecosystem, pcaversaccio is perhaps most widely recognized for co-founding and leading SEAL 911, a critical security initiative designed to assist protocols, developers, and users in navigating emergency situations, mitigating threats, and responding to active exploits. In addition to frontline incident response work, pc has been an active participant in the Ethereum Foundation’s Silviculture Society. This advisory group provides informal counsel to the Foundation, helping guide its leadership in preserving the network’s foundational values amidst a rapidly evolving technological and regulatory landscape.

Beyond operational and security contributions, pc has also made significant intellectual and philosophical impacts on the community through written manifestos and thought leadership. In 2024, pcaversaccio authored The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto, a modern adaptation of Eric Hughes’ seminal 1993 work, A Cypherpunk’s Manifesto, tailored specifically for the technical and social realities of the Ethereum network. Building upon this foundational framework, pc followed up in 2025 with Ethereum Privacy: The Road to Self-Sovereignty, further advancing the discourse surrounding user privacy and digital autonomy within decentralized systems. Through both technical contributions and community-focused advocacy, pc has consistently worked to elevate security awareness and privacy standards across the entire ecosystem.

With this new appointment, the composition of the Ethereum Foundation Board shifts to include a diverse group of leaders tasked with guiding the organization’s long-term trajectory. The current board members now consist of Aya Miyaguchi, who serves as President; Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum; Patrick Storchenegger, acting in his capacity as Swiss legal counsel; and now pcaversaccio.

The role of the Ethereum Foundation Board was further clarified earlier this year with the release of the official EF Mandate document. According to the mandate, the board is responsible for setting the overarching vision of the Foundation and overseeing its management to ensure that high-level strategies and executive decisions remain aligned with the organization’s core values. Furthermore, the board functions essentially as a security council, working to protect the heart and soul of the Foundation while simultaneously ensuring strict compliance with Swiss foundation laws and regulatory requirements.

According to the announcement, pcaversaccio is joining the Board for an initial one-year term on a voluntary basis. The Ethereum Foundation expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that they look forward to working closely together to help steward Ethereum’s long-term future and ensure the ecosystem continues to thrive on the principles of openness, security, and decentralization.
