and Robinhood Partner to Power the Next Generation of Finance
In a landmark development bridging traditional and digital finance, blockchain solutions leader Ripple and global financial services powerhouse Robinhood have announced a sweeping strategic partnership. The collaboration integrates Ripple’s enterprise-grade infrastructure—spanning stablecoins, institutional markets, and treasury management—directly into Robinhood’s expansive retail and institutional trading platforms.
The alliance marks a major milestone for both companies, positioning Ripple’s stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), as a central component of Robinhood’s digital asset ecosystem. By forging deep ties across treasury operations and institutional markets, the partnership aims to streamline financial workflows, enhance liquidity, and provide seamless access to next-generation financial tools for millions of users worldwide.
At the core of the agreement is the integration of RLUSD across Robinhood’s diverse operations. The enterprise-grade stablecoin is already live today on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, with a broader rollout anticipated later this year directly within the core Robinhood application. Furthermore, Robinhood will leverage RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) for institutional settlement. This application extends the stablecoin’s utility across Bitstamp’s rapidly expanding institutional business, facilitating faster, more reliable, and cost-effective clearing and settlement processes.
The scope of the partnership extends far beyond customer-facing digital assets, reaching deep into Robinhood’s internal financial operations. To modernize and automate its global treasury management, Robinhood will integrate Ripple Treasury. This sophisticated platform will handle cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, payments, risk management, and intercompany netting. By updating these critical back-end systems, Robinhood can optimize its capital allocation and enhance operational efficiency on a global scale.

The collaboration also reinforces ties within institutional markets through Ripple Prime. Building upon an existing relationship between the two companies regarding financing, liquidity, and market access, Ripple Prime now provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across roughly 20 digital assets. Additionally, the platform gives Ripple Prime clients direct access to spot trading on Bitstamp. Looking ahead, Ripple Prime is slated to support perpetual futures trading on Bitstamp later this year, further cementing the integrated pipeline between institutional liquidity providers and retail trading execution.
Industry leaders from both organizations have emphasized the comprehensive nature of the collaboration and its potential to reshape the broader financial landscape. Monica Long, President of Ripple, highlighted the multifaceted scope of the joint initiative. She noted that what makes the partnership with Robinhood so exciting is the sheer breadth of what they are building together. From bringing RLUSD to retail and institutional markets to helping Robinhood manage its own treasury operations, Long explained that the partnership reflects a growing institutional demand for integrated solutions that seamlessly support both customer-facing offerings and core financial operations. That, she underscored, is precisely where Ripple delivers value.
Echoing this sentiment, Johann Kerbrat, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Robinhood Crypto and International, pointed to the critical role of utility in the evolution of digital assets. Kerbrat stated that utility is what moves stablecoins forward. Through this collaboration with Ripple and Bitstamp, Robinhood will gain access to RLUSD for institutional settlement, Ripple Treasury for internal operations, and Ripple Prime for financing. According to Kerbrat, this synergy represents the exact blueprint of what a connected, global financial system should look like.
The partnership arrives at a pivotal moment for the digital asset industry, as stablecoins transition rapidly from specialized crypto trading instruments into foundational components of core financial infrastructure. Market adoption has surged, with total stablecoin supply now exceeding $300 billion globally. Meanwhile, Ripple’s RLUSD has experienced remarkable growth, scaling to more than $2.5 billion in market capitalization since its official launch in December 2024.
This expanding infrastructure meets a massive consumer base. Robinhood currently serves 28.6 million funded customers globally, alongside a robust roster of institutional clients through its acquisition and operation of Bitstamp. By combining forces, Ripple and Robinhood bring together complementary capabilities across institutional and retail markets, effectively bridging traditional financial workflows and decentralized digital assets to serve a diverse array of modern financial use cases.
