Sazmining Launches Retail Offering for Jack Dorsey’s Block Proto Hashboards to Democratize Bitcoin Mining

Bitcoin mining services provider Sazmining has launched a new offering that allows individual investors to purchase mining hardware developed by Proto, the bitcoin mining hardware division of Jack Dorsey’s Block. The initiative aims to lower the traditional financial and operational barriers to entering the bitcoin mining sector, which has increasingly evolved into a capital-intensive industry dominated by large-scale institutional operators with access to cheap electricity and specialized infrastructure.

Sazmining Serves Up Block’s Bitcoin Hashboards

The Wyoming-based company announced that retail and individual customers can now purchase Proto immersion hashboards outright. Under the arrangement, Sazmining handles the complete installation, ongoing operation, and maintenance of the hardware at a dedicated U.S. mining facility. Crucially, any bitcoin generated by the customer-owned equipment is deposited directly into their personal wallets rather than being held in custody by the hosting provider.

To make the hardware accessible to a broader retail audience, Sazmining is offering the boards with a down payment of $1,397 followed by 18 months of zero-interest payments, bringing the total purchase price to $4,187 per unit. According to the company’s current deployment timeline, equipment purchased through this new offering is expected to begin active operations between November and December 2026.

Proto, operating under Jack Dorsey’s Block (NYSE: XYZ), focuses on engineering modular mining systems specifically designed for high efficiency and long-term durability. Each individual hashboard available through Sazmining’s platform delivers approximately 200 terahashes per second (TH/s) of computational power while maintaining an energy efficiency rating of roughly 15 joules per terahash (J/TH).

Rather than forcing retail participants to purchase an entire, expensive multi-chip mining rig, this model allows customers to acquire individual hashboards. This granular approach significantly reduces upfront capital requirements while ensuring that the buyer retains full ownership of the physical hardware. Sazmining charges a single, consolidated rate that covers both electricity consumption and routine maintenance. This product launch follows an existing multi-megawatt hardware supply relationship between Sazmining and Block, with both entities anticipating that the partnership will expand further as consumer demand for accessible mining solutions grows.

Kent Halliburton, Sazmining’s CEO and co-founder, emphasized the philosophical and structural alignment of the new product in a public statement. "Because of our aligned-incentive model, Sazmining only earns when we produce bitcoin for our clients," Halliburton said. He added that the hardware developed by Block is engineered with longevity in mind, noting that "Proto’s hardware is built to last, and durability means more uptime hashing for the people who own them."

Halliburton also framed individual mining as an alternative method of acquiring cryptocurrency. He argued that spreading equipment and electricity costs evenly over a machine’s operational lifespan provides a distinct form of financial diversification compared to simply purchasing bitcoin directly on traditional spot exchanges. At the same time, industry observers note that mining profitability remains subject to a variety of shifting variables, including fluctuating network difficulty, changing electricity tariffs, hardware performance metrics, and the prevailing market value of bitcoin. Consequently, financial returns for individual participants cannot be guaranteed.

In addition to focusing on hardware accessibility, Sazmining emphasized its ongoing corporate commitments to environmental sustainability. The company claims that its broader mining fleet operates with a carbon-free energy share that sits more than 20 percent above the global Bitcoin network average. Founded in 2018, Sazmining operates a network of data centers and mining facilities situated across the United States, Paraguay, and Norway, catering to a diverse clientele composed of both individual retail participants and institutional investors.
